Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification

This class is for re-certification for those that are current (or who have expired) & are currently working in an area that requires it (delivery & care of newborns).

IMPORTANT SESSION INFORMATION :

The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) provides education based on the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation & Emergency Cardiovascular Care: Neonatal Resuscitation Guidelines.

NRP promotes an evidence-based approach to the care of newborns at birth and supports effective, team-based care for healthcare professionals involved in delivery room resuscitation.

NRP Course Levels:

Essential NRP:
Designed for providers who participate in neonatal resuscitation up to the administration of positive pressure ventilation.
Recommended for: Technicians and Clinical Assistants

Note: Registered Nurses (RNs) should check with their hospital regarding eligibility and requirements for this level.

Advanced NRP:
Intended for providers who may be involved in resuscitation beyond positive pressure ventilation.
Recommended for: Labor & Delivery RNs who attend births

Course Requirements:

Part 1 (Online Component):

  • Must be completed by all participants via the AAP Learning Platform prior to the live instructor-led skills check-off.
  • A certificate of completion for Part 1 must be submitted to the instructor before attending the in-person session.
